The London Seminary church planting course – Plant! – has been running very successfully this year. We are planning to offer the course again in 2016/17, starting in September 2016.
To help meet demand across the country, we will be running it in 2016-17 in two locations: at London Seminary – plantsouth! – and at City Church Manchester – plantnorth!
The 2016/17 course includes a 2-day DNA Download conference at London Seminary.
For further details of dates, lecturers, topics covered and how to apply, see the dedicated Plant! website here.
Here is what current participants on the course have said about it:
‘The Plant! course provides stimulating ideas from key planters in the UK. It has helped us clarify our vision and values as a church, and begin thinking realistically about creative ways our small church might plant or aid the revitalization of others.’
‘I have found the first hand exposure to the thinking of men who have planted churches in the UK to be very valuable. One day a month gives time for the speaker to give an in-depth analysis, unpack everything and answer questions. I am really glad to be on the course.’
‘Each session has had a fresh perspective, but always been grounded in personal testimony.’
‘It has helped me in various ways as we start a new church plant. Firstly, it has helped me think through matters of leadership, such as setting the vision and values and pasturing the “core group” or “church planting team”. It has also given us tools for thinking through the particular challenges we face. The range of speakers from various different settings means there are always some idea or insights to stimulate or correct one’s own thinking. The third great benefit has been to be with a group of people from all sorts of backgrounds, so we can learn from one another’s experiences, pray for one another, and be encouraged by what the Lord is doing.
