An announcement: The John Owen Centre for theological study will now be called Pastors’ Academy.
When our work began in 1999 with the ThM course as the greater part of it, the John Owen association made a lot of sense because the course focused on the historical theology of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
With the expansion of our Study Days across a range of theological disciplines and with a steady flow of pastors pursuing Study Projects on diverse topics, the name has become less descriptive of what we actually do. Some pastors still ask if we do more than study Owen or historical theology. Though we remain unswerving in our commitment to the values embodied in Owen’s theology, it makes sense for us to have a name that is more informative.
