We asked Julia Jones some questions about Flourish, our new course for women’s workers. Julia is the Course Director.
Why have you launched Flourish?
We believe there are a growing number of women’s workers and ministry wives who would like to deepen their own biblical understanding, as well as having the opportunity to look at issues particularly relevant to their ministry among women.
What is distinctive about the course?
It provides in-depth biblical study taught by London Seminary lecturers and women who will teach the afternoon sessions who themselves have a wide range of experience working with women in a variety of situations.
Who is it for?
Those already serving in women’s ministry, including wives of ministers.
What will Flourish train me to do?
It will help you to grow and be stretched in your own biblical understanding and will equip you to help the women you work with to flourish.
How have you chosen the topics?
We had a consultation with a number of women who are engaged in women’s ministry; these are the topics they felt would be helpful to women ministering in today’s world.
Does the course require private study between lecture days?
There will be no assignments to write, but there will be reading set that will need to be completed before each session.
What will help me to get the most from the course?
Each attendee will be expected to meet up between sessions with a mentor, a woman experienced in ministry. This will give the opportunity to discuss what has been learnt and look at how this impacts both your personal life and your ministry.
