Exploring their radical zeal and commitment to mission
10:20am

Part of London Seminary’s Autumn Lecture Series 2026

Be inspired by one of the earliest protestant movements, whose concern for the lost was so great that they were willing to be sold into slavery to reach slaves for Christ. The Moravian church placed a high emphasis on worldwide mission, sending out some of the first Protestant missionaries. Within 25 years, 100 Moravians were missionaries, more than the rest of the Protestant church had sent out in two centuries.

They helped shape the evangelical convictions of John and Charles Wesley and influenced the wider evangelical revival of the eighteenth century. Their distinctive views on personal conversion, assurance and mysticism, however, also led to theological tensions with the Wesley brothers and George Whitefield.

Ben Virgo is Director of Christian Heritage London and Pastor of Victoria Park Community Church. Ben studied Classics at UCL and brings Christian history to life through guided walks across London, engaging social media content, and the Christian Heritage London podcast.

You are invited to join this seminary lecture on 25th November 2026. These lectures are intended for pastors and those preparing for ministry, but others may be interested, and are welcome to join us.
